Position Description
The Marketing & Communications Specialist connects CHRIS 180’s internal departments and external marketing teams. This role facilitates clear communication, timely project completion, and aligned marketing efforts across the organization. Ideal for someone organized and collaborative, you’ll translate internal needs into actionable tasks while maintaining brand consistency and storytelling momentum. In addition to project coordination, this role involves hands-on work in collateral creation, website content updates, and internal and external communications support. You’ll help shape the visual and messaging consistency of CHRIS 180’s brand across digital and print platforms, ensuring that both internal and external audiences are informed and engaged.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Coordination
- Manage marketing and communications projects across departments, including work to support fundraising events and campaigns and programmatic work in the community.
- Track marketing and communications deadlines and deliverables, reporting them to executive leadership stakeholders.
- Maintain organized marketing folders and content in shared drives such as Microsoft and Google Drive.
- Internal Communications
- Serve as the primary contact between internal departments and the marketing team, gathering information and updates to inform both internal and external marketing efforts.
- Craft clear, engaging internal messages to support organizational alignment and employee engagement.
- Provide support for internal all-staff meetings, including content development, logistics coordination, and follow-up communications.
- Assist in the creation and refinement of presentations for internal and external audiences, ensuring brand consistency and clarity.
- Provide clear feedback and instructions to teams and partners to keep projects on track and aligned with strategic goals.
- Agency, Consultant & External Media Partner Liaison
- Act as a day-to-day contact for external marketing consultants and agencies.
- Organize content for campaigns and facilitate approvals and feedback.
- Support relationships with external media contacts—including TV, radio, news outlets, and digital partners—by coordinating outreach, sharing press materials, and helping manage media opportunities.
- Content Gathering & Event Support
- Collect photos, quotes, and updates for storytelling and social media.
- Attend events to capture live content.
- Coordinate with program staff to support marketing needs.
- Design & Brand Guidelines Compliance
- Create basic marketing materials for use in printed materials, presentations, social media, website, etc.
- Ensure all marketing materials align with the CHRIS 180 Brand Guidelines.
Skills & Qualifications
- Three to five years' experience in marketing, communications, or a related field. Non-profit experience is preferred but not required.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with project management tools.
- Ability to work cross functionally and build relationships.
- Proficiency in Canva or similar design tools.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Google Drive and cloud-based file organization
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Work on other duties, tasks, and projects as assigned.

Salary: 50K-60K Depending on experience.

Schedule
This is a full-time position and typically works Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5:00pm but requires flexibility for evening and/or weekend events.
