Bilingual Case Manager

Position Summary:
This guide outlines the minimum position qualifications and responsibilities of the Case Manager role in Transitional Foster Care for Unaccompanied Children (UC) programs.

This position requires pre-approval from the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) and the Migrant Wellness Program. Before hiring the candidate, please submit the candidate’s resume to your Migrant Wellness Program Manager for review. If the candidate meets the minimum required qualifications, the materials will be elevated to the ORR Project Officer for final approval.

Role and Responsibilities:
The Case Manager is responsible for helping children and families with the reunification process by providing casework and supportive services to children in foster care, which includes communicating with and assessing any family members identified or referred for potential sponsorship and assisting with sponsorship applications as needed. The Case Manager is responsible for the intake, assessment, case planning, service coordination, monitoring, and discharge of the Unaccompanied Children referred to CHRIS 180. In addition to casework and supportive services, the Case Manager will also be responsible for communicating with stakeholders in an effective and timely manner to ensure case continuity.

This position is expected to function effectively with moderate supervision while following the guidelines given on procedures, along with the agency, federal, and state regulatory requirements.

These services will be provided on an intensive, short-term basis and will require extensive knowledge of the policies of the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR).
