Accounting Manager

Department: Finance and Accounting
Location: Atlanta, GA

Position Summary

This position reports to the Controller. The Accounting Manager is accountable for the day-to-day accounting operations of the company, to include the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company’s reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles

Role and Responsibilities

The primary duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Follows GAAP and ensures compliance with internal controls and other CHRIS180 Accounting Procedures
  • Supervise Accounting staff, oversee day to day functionality
  • Responsible for all aspects of accounting (accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, credit card expense, etc.)
  • Review recurring monthly journal entries
  • Review and approve AP and AR entries
  • Monthly reconciliation and general review of the general ledger accounts
  • Reconciliation of Atlanta Housing Authority (AHA) rent assistance (PBRA) reports
  • Issue timely and complete financial statements
  • Compliance reporting for grants and contracts
  • Research accounting issues for compliance
  • Responsible for cash management, including performing wire transfers, ACH payments, and maintaining lines of credit
  • Assist with the annual external audit and provide schedules and reconciliations to the external auditors
  • Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filing
  • Maintain detailed files, documentation, and billing requirements in a timely manner in accordance with CHRIS180 policy and compliance standards
  • Attend and participate in all meetings and supervision as required and in accordance with CHRIS180 policy and procedures
  • Adhere to CHRIS180 Code of Conduct, Code of Ethics, and GA Code
  • Maintain consumers’ confidentiality
  • Support and maintain an environment of emotional and physical safety for consumers, staff and other stakeholders at all times
  • Demonstrate exceptional customer service
  • Maintain certifications/trainings and provide information to HR and Training in a timely manner
  • Other projects and duties as assigned

Qualifications/Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with a minimum of 7 years of relative work and supervisory experience
  • Good organizational skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office suites
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Close attention to detail is required as well as the ability to multi-task
  • Experience with Federal grants is a plus

Salary: $100,000.00 - -$105,000.00

Schedule:

This is a full-time position and typically works Monday – Friday 8:00am – 5:00 pm but requires flexibility.
